Ultrasound & FNAC results

* Again, This post is not for everyone. It's for my sickness records ( August 8, 2023 till Today ) . You guys don't need to read or comments because it's going to be very long long post. Most of stories already has been told in FB. * Comments are off *

Back to the past ...

Before mom and me know what caused fluids in my right lung buildup, All my results ( Bloodwork, X-ray, Fluids samples ) were unclear to tell what was caused. It was very serious because unclear results means a doctor was unable to give me treatments. It could be fatal because my fluids were building up every two days. They have to act quickly to find out.

A VET suspected :

1) FIP : feline infectious peritonitis

2) Heart disease

3) Cancer

4) Minor diseases

I did ECHO so it was clear I don't have heart disease.

Only FIP and Cancer is a main suspicious. But most of first results put more weight to FIP the most. With a big pictures. Nothing weighted for cancer. It was the less suspicious.

Once it was unclear, I had to do the second test. All was sent to feline pathology again, and I did more X-Ray. ( The second bloodwork and my third fluids aspiration's samples ) 

Then all second results + the forth fluids from lung ( Milky ) cleared up on July 30, 2023  I was diagnosed Chylothorax. New diet ( low-fat ) and my treatments started right away under hospital care. ( Note : I admit to hospital on July 27, 2023 )

Only one test I did not yet do is Ultrasound... 🐾 

Monday night : July 31, 2023 A specialist found a lump above my heart ( right lung ). Mom still thought it was nothing. A specialist advice to do FNAC Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology. Mom agreed. The sample was sent to feline pathology.

I was back home on August 2, 2023. I looked good. Me and mom started the new normal. ( New Diet & Medicine + No treats. Mom has to monitor my breathing , weight, etc. )

I was doing good. Our positive was up.... 

Then August 4, 2023  The VET ( GP ) rang mom to tell mom my results from FNAC shows I have evil cancer. My mom tears was pouring. That day, I actually looked fine. Only thing my mom concerned was my mushy products.

At the front of an oncologist's room

August 6, 2023 Sunday afternoon, We went to see an oncologist to find out the detail and options of treatments. Before mom saw her. Mom already made up her mind " No operation & No Chemo for me " End up she told mom the results said  " WAS SUGGESTED ". It means " Only suspicious " The oncologist said it was not enough for her to have a conclusion 100 % I has cancer, and no way she can suggest me any cancer treatments "

Me and mom had big smile, We was creaming happily till an oncologists had to give mom a warning " But it doesn't mean he doesn't has cancer ! It's just couldn't be sure by FNA's results. To be 100% we has to see his tissue from his lung which he has to do operation which I am not going to send him to do that. He looks well no other signs to pin yet. " Mom didn't hear her anymore. We was quickly leave a room lol.

Mom asked the hospital to see my doctor to check fluids in my lung. She sent me to do X-ray to see do I have a fluids build-up ? Nop, its no fluids buil-up. It was a great news. Mom and doctor talked about my diet and my medication because my products become semi- liquid in that morning. My doctor stopped antibiotic ( Cafspan 100 mg ), and gave me Synbiotic D-C ) Mom thought she was on top of my symptoms but NOT.

After we back home. I ate and I ran straight to my litter. My missile exploded in a tray and spread to a wall. Mom looked at my new artwork then she turned and see my shitty butt and paw. She did wash and dried for me. She hope a new pill will make it better tomorrow to come.

Monday 7 of August, I still kept going with diarrhea. Mom was not worried just diarrhea but my body temperature was changed too often. According to cleaning after the missile explosion ( + my belly was shaved when I have to do ultrasound. Its easy to feel cold ). The end of Monday she took me to hospital for fast check up ( gum, blood pressure, sample of my poop and my body temperature ) A doctor had a quick chat with mom she put me back to antibiotic but a different one : Marbofloxcin 20 mg. and she reduce my steroid ( prednisolone 5 mg )

August 8, 2023 It was International kitty day. It was my unstable day. Good news my diarrhea stopped, Bad news, I didn't make any products all day long, only pee. My breathing is so fast in the morning. It's almost hit a level mom has to grab me and go to hospital. My face is shaking like the Indian way of shaking face ( means fluids in my lung might be build-up ). Mom weight me again to check. 7.2 kg is exactly the same as the early morning and yesterday. Phew ! it was okay.

We kitties sleep a lot, that's our normal way. Yesterday I was like a human who has a lots of coffee. No sleep for long hours ( During daylight ).

Mom tried to encourage me purrs to heal myself. I avoid her hand to touch my head. Mom thought I was possible in pain or feel dizzy because of pills. She gave me Matatabi powder ( AKA Silvervine powder ) I licked it all. After that I went to sleep.

In the afternoon my breathing was slowing down and back to normal rate at the end of a day. Mom did massage me. I did purrs so she know she got nothing too worried about. Purring is always a good sign.

Today August 9, 2023 I am good as new even I didn't make a product. My breathing is normal. I eat a lots and drink. I can ran away from medicine. ( I did have it + Omega 3 )

I will see my doctor again on Sunday for check-up.

It's all body language

 

Many of FB friends already knew mom took me to see a doctor again yesterday because I didn't look alright in the morning. A doctor did perform Fluids Aspiration again he only got small amount of fluids. Its not because my lung got none fluids left but I didn't cooperated. He gave up because he didn't want to stress me more. He did do more blood work for protein levels. He injected me Vitamin B12 & Antibiotic.

Before we left hospital. A doctor told mom ' Bring him back if he breaths labour again. '

Since I have Fluids in my lungs, My breathing is Fast and Ferious style. Mom are not sure she could tell the difference between fast breathing and labour breathing. She asked ' Apart from labour breathing, What are the serious signs from his body ?

My VET explained to mom. ' When he sleep if he can do side sleeping means he is fine, Once he can't and he do Cat Loaf  while he is sleeping plus the labour breathing that's when you must bring him back here. '

New day arrived, I didn't eat, I didn't drink. I ask mom to go outside ( still inside a gate ). 

She looks at me. I wasn't look well. She supposed to keep me indoor. It's probably most stupid things to let me exposed but...

She opened a door ' What's da H***  If he is going to die, he must die happy '

Later she went to have her coffee

and come back to checked on me...

My mom are freeking out !

She has to keep remind herself he is not sleeping he just sits. It's okay he sits.

I still didn't eat and drink till evening.

My speed is slow...

I need your purrs badly

A couple days ago I started to eat less even denied my treat, then she saw I breathed very fast. She did count my respiration rate while I slept. It was 35 per a minute. It was not okay ( Normal is 20 - 30 per a minute ). She knew something wrong...

Today mom took me to an animal hospital. I did blood test, The results was fine, but my X-ray showed a lots of fluid in a lung. A doctor sucked off most of liquids and he will send to a lab to find out what it could be...

Possible cancer... Possible FIP... Possible Tumors.. etc.

The results will be available on Saturday.

My night companion

Mom got a humidifier for me long time ago ( early of my illness on March 2023 ) but it freak me out.

Guys, look at it ! ... its like volcano eruptions ! .. No way I'm getting close to this stuff.

Since then, mom keeps it as useless item. She thought maybe it's suitable for people who live in dry weather not humid.

Then...one night I got very sticky nose...like it's so hard for me to breath through. I couldn't sleep. I sneezed I drank lots of water but it did nothing to my sticky mucus. Last thing I did, I went to stand in front of a bathroom. Asking mom to open a door for me. I remembered mom used to take me there when she have a shower. And I felt so much better to breath. 

Mom opened a door for me. She knew straight away humidity help me breathe better. That's why I asked to open a bathroom. She saw the wet floor starts to dry out because the weather is very hot. She knew a humidifier will works well in this situation but it freaked me out. 

So mom comes back in a bathroom and put a humidifier while I sleep deeply. To be sure she doesn't wake me up. She turns the back of humidifier to me so the light doesn't disturb my sleep.

Later I learned to live in the same room with humidifier... MOL

Since then, I sleep better ❤️

Yesterday I was very very good. I can sit on my furry butt and ate mushy treats. I made beautiful products in my litter. Everything seems to head to a good direction.

then... Today I got bleeding nose again in the evening. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

Note from mom :

Puddy is unstable. A couple day is good, and then he is down again. All I can do is to deal with him in the present moment. I am trying my best to ease him. His nose is bleeding in some days. Other days is just normal snots. The worst version is thick & sticky. It makes him hard to breath. His pill can dilute the sticky but the side effect is bad ( Unable to eat, drink less, no poo, and fatigue ) I only can use 3 days Max.

I admire the way he fights. Puddy is always struggling with breathing through his sticky nose. He has a hard time swallowing may choke on his food or liquid when trying to swallow. But he loves his life, and he does his best to live with his own struggles... his new normal. He only asks me for help when he really can't manage to do by himself.

Puddy and I speak in different languages. Thanks for his purring to lead me what I can treat him better, to ease his difficulty.

Detox

One week has passed, and I'm still alive

Last time. I stopped drinking and eating by myself. Less pee and no poop for 5 days.

After three days syringe feeding and a drug. I was chocked. 

Yep, I chocked right after mom did syringe feeding and dropped a pill in my mouth. Like I'm going to die. I scared mom to death. She stopped my medication (Carbocisteine : Expetan )

Normal side effects : headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gastric discomfort and bleeding

Rare side effects : wheezing, tightness in the chest or throat, trouble breathing or meowing and mouth, face, lips, tongue or throat start swelling.

 

Taking too much Carbocisteine is unlikely to harm ( from my records 3 days max.)

The forth day, she fed me recovery food from syringe, I barfed badly. 

Now no more syringe feeding. ( drug, food & water )

For mom, ' Kitty Barf ' is a good signal. It's detox. After that, I ate, and drink by myself. Not a normal level but it's a signal of hope. My weight slightly gain. Yesterday, it's 7.15 kg ( 15.76 lb ). I made my products for two days now ( few tiny little poop ). But my blocking noses still be a problem. But we have hope.

Me and mom is very appreciated all your kind words, good thought, purrs and prayers. Thanks to you all. We can't get back to you yet because mom and me are very exhausted. We will try our best to keep it up and stay with pawsitive vibes.

My mom's worst fear

Hello dear friends 🐈‍⬛

Me get to the point... to tell you all...

It's likely that my life will seep away... soon or not ?

Me and mom really don't know...

but my furry body starts to show many bad body signals.

How it happens,

Last three weeks ago, My nose stopped bleeding. I was doing really well even I still have a leaking nose ( one nostril ) but I can eat, drink, make my products, clean myself, sharpen my claws and I have some energy to have my morning walk ( short patrol ).

From that point on, me and mom thought me can live .. like an old mancat for many years to come.

Then.. the weather turned bad .. a sudden and extreme change in temperature. It was really really hot for a couple days ( 38°C/ 100.4°F ) even we have AC.

After that my nasal discharge turns sticky...like really sticky. But this time, mom couldn't do anything to help me because its nasal cavity.

😿 

Not for long... 

My furry body denied everything. I stopped drinking, eating, peeing less and no more poop.

Mom took me to see a doctor ( his name is ' Bird ' ), Mom told him my history of a chronic cold. Showing him her daily notes about my symptoms. Asking for help desperately. 

" His discharge is very sticky.. any medication to ease?  "

" Anythings you can inject him to boost up his appetite or rehydrated ? "

After we got home : mom just found out actually the VET can treat me by injecting the fluids under my loose skin but he didn't offer me at all. He knows I am dehydrated.

He gave me a medication to help my nasal discharge ' Carbocysteine 375 mg : Brand Flemmex )' , my booster  ( Mirtazapine 15 mg : Remeron ), and Viyo Recuperation ( the VET forgot to give mom at the end. Luckily, mom asked for it because this one is a game changer, it made me drink. )

Later, I slightly get better. I starts to drink by myself... not normal level but it's enough to make mom smile. I made my products after 5 days ( tiny little poop like made by a kitten ). I didn't eat by myself but mom can feed me by syringe.

We are looking forward with hope...

Today... my other nostril starts leaking. Now I have both . In the afternoon, I got bleeding nose. My mom starts to lose her hope. She starts to talk none sense to me...

' Puddy, I love you very very much. But if you are suffering, You can let's go. I only wish you peace and happiness. I understand if you must go, don't endure the pain. I will be very very sad but I will be okay. I love you my darling boy. and it's forever, remember that .. love you'

I didn't wait for mom to finish her sentence ...

My style... Puddy's style, I never coped with her being sooky la la. ( that's why mom always think I don't understand what she said ) I deal with a moment. I do my best. I walk to my glass. Mommy quickly follow me. ( She have to hold a glass for me, I need a special level to drink

Me & mom believes a wild side of life. Mom did a lots of research before she offered me a raw egg yolk. She never force me to eat (excepted my pills and food syringe). Me, Puddy cat always have a final say. I often denied bad/ expired/ sh*t food. If it's not to my palate 😸. We kitties only eats great stuffs ..tee..heh

Recommended Portion & How often : One egg yolk a week, Max 

Puddy is 14 years old : weight 7 - 8 + kg. ( 16.7 + lb ) ~ I could only eat 3/4 of yolk a day

It can be any Cat Supplements you like. I tried several but I love this one. Please make sure your pawrents read all things in papers and box. Some supplements are dangerous for some conditions of kitties.

Mom give me 500 mg ( from a capsule ) mixed with my favorite mushy treats. 

Once a day : Every two-three days ( Max. )

If you prefer Fish Oil, you can go for it. It doesn't need to be Krill Oil. It's just a source of Omega 3 we kitties need. Many articles advised our human should get the one, specially formulated for cats and dogs only. Mine is a human krill oil. Mom read all ingredients on a bottle it doesn't lack of anything so she offered a drop first, if I denied or it won't show a sign of improvement, she planed to go get the special one for pets, but I did eager to eat and my conditions were improving so we stuck with this one.

Of course, They do love us .. LOTS 💕 but when we kitties were sick, most of them are too worried and too stressed. Sometime, they forgot to show love, or do it less than normal.

It's been a week,

my nose finally stops bleeding, my snot turns to be clear.

It's sticky sometimes when I woke up.

Mom dampen my nose with warm towel ( me hate it 🙀 )

Every little thing she does with me,

It seems to work.

Oh my nose : Part 2

Sorry for the delay update and we are not yet get back for you guys. Mom didn't sleep well for several days, due to my sickness , stress and she still have to go to work.

When I couldn't breath during a night, I woke mom to help me clear my nose even I hate it. ( wiping with warm water, taking some sticky stuffs out of my nose ) so she was drained too.

My mucus sample shows I have some common bacterias.

My Blood test Results :
- My red & white cell count is normal
- My lung, liver, kidney are absolutely fine
* Only concerned from my blood results is Dehydration

A doctor couldn't tell us a cause of my bleeding nose and chronic cold from all tests and X-ray. She recommended to put camera to see inside my nasal. As many human knew it means I have to get anesthesia.

This is really scary procedures for mom. It means a risk of death of me. I am almost 15. I am so sick my nose is full of mucus. Mom is seriously not sure.... Me, Puddy boy is going to wake up after done that. ( Some doctors accepted to mom it's a risk, but they recommended to do it anyway )

To give an accurate information by Endoscopy, it could be the end of me .. 

Mom told a doctor she couldn't jump to a conclusion to go for it right away. She needs time to make this huge decision. Well, It's my life ... her precious furry son. 

Mom asks herself. Do she really want to take a risk to go for a procedure that not cure but giving an accurate informations to a doctor. So a doctor can make up her next move how to cure me. Do it really worth it ? ..To risk Puddy's life ? ...One human fear can cause a dead ?... Is it really necessary?

After we got home, I was so hungry ! I ate a lots, drank a lot ( because we spent time more than 4 hours in hospital + traveling times. It's quite obvious why I was dehydrated ) Mom put me to bed. Then she rang her friends for an opinion.

Mom's friend is 61 she has cats since she was a girl, she is growing up with cats, and she have 13 cats. All of them have a long good life (17 +) One of her cat right now is 21 years old. She love cats all of her life.

After mom's friend listened all, she confess to mom she used to make a huge mistake with one of her cat. A cat was 17 years old he starts to slow down. She worried about his health so she sent him to see a VET. To make sure nothing go wrong and wants her cat stays healthy.

A doctor starts all procedure of checking to find all informations they need to know. Her cat was panic and extremely shocked by procedures. Mom's friend lose her cat right away on that day after sending him to do ultrasound.

She told my mom she deeply regrets for her own decision...

Since then mom's friend told herself ' never ever fear a future that not yet come. And never make a decision like that ever again. ' Her decision on that day is still haunting. 

She told my mom " My lesson... If my cat is going to die , it should be at home. Not a stressful hospital's procedure I put him through. When my cats are old, he/she should be home where they feel safe and comfortable "

Those words hit my mom so hard so mom makes decision she will not take any tiny risk to lose me. Even it is a chance to know what is really happens to my body. Why is cause me chronic cold.

( Mom brought up a pot of bamboo for me to nip.

I don't go out anymore. I turn myself to be indoor kitty since March 19, 2023 )

My mom will find a natural way to ease my symptom. She will not worrying so much about future that not yet there. We are going to stay a moment. And make the best out of it.

Oh my nose Part 1 ( Warning : A Very Long Story )

In early of February 2023,  Me got a cold. My nose was leaking. Mom didn't want to tell you guys because she thought it was nothing. Then Sh*t happens. Big little nasty !

The first animal hospital we went. They gave us medications without details. No name of drugs ( to prevent furry patients go somewhere else better ) they just said one is for kill a bug, and the other is for stop runny nose.

3 days later it got worse. Me had more coughing & runny nose. Mom stoped all drugs and seek for Herbal Remedies instead. She found ' Breath Easy ' ( Brand : Bestlife4pets : Holistic Medicine for Cat Cold ). 

This good stuff works so well for me. very tiny pills, non gmo, no taste... I didn't even knew I ate it. Four days later... all running nose & cough was gone.

Then early of March ( Our Summer ), a quick drop to cold temperatures makes my precious nose leaking again. It's hard.. hard for me to believe it turns yellow.

Yeah right, 😿  ..we knew it's a sign of infection. No way mom can use 'Breath Easy' to help me. I need something to kill a bug.

Mom got me into one of the best animal hospital in Thailand ( March 9, 2023)

( Not the one in early of February : Mom doesn't trust them anymore )

We did not come here in the first place because

The waiting time is very long ( 4 hours + )

Because they have over 60 furry patients + a day ( Booked & Walk-in )

The doctor sent me to a special room to kill a bug,

then X-Ray to see my Kitty Upper respiratory system.

As you can see I have something in my nasal.

( Actually, Mom can't see it even she has a glasses on ..lol )

Near my heart... my doctor said it is not normal, but it is not yet dangerous.

Have to watch out. It could turn to be serious issues like asthma.

It's mom's job to keep an eye on me.

A VET gave me 2 Medications ( Both liquids )

1) Amoxicillin ( Brand : Cuvamox ) - a penicillin antibiotic

2) Cetirizine ( Brand : Quitex ) - antihistamine

After took 2 Medications ( Both liquids ) for 3 days

Mom was shock ! Me was shock !!

My nose is bloody bleeding !!! 🙀🙀🙀 ( with mucus )

Back to my hospital again on March 14, 2023

Mom thinks nosebleed is a side effect from antihistamine.

Because this medication makes mucus super sticky ,

or my nasal very very dried till nosebleed.. ,

or my furry body is sensitive.

A doctor ( The 2nd doctor : It was not my 1st doctor's schedule on that day) does not think so

She said side effects only occur when a kitty first take a medicine,

my mom thinks side effects can happen at any time

so mom asked for change the medication for my runny nose (Cetirizine) to be something else.

Oh !!! ..mom, you are NOT a doctor, You are just a mom of Me !

The doctor gently, decline her request.

Obviously a doctor doesn't fall for mom lol 

A doctor sent me to a breathing box ( Antibiotics ), then took samples from my nose.

Make a new appointment to see her on Tuesday 21 March, 2023 for the results.

She did not recommend to stop medicines.

On the way home, I started to cough often....

At night time, I couldn't lying my head down to sleep. I could not breath.

Mom cried she got no ideas what to do. We both fall asleep next to each other.

Next morning,

I have a labour breathing. It looks like I couldn't breath. I tried my best to catch an air.

The thick mucus was blocked my nasal. I was struggling badly.

We were back to hospital instantly.

I met the 3rd doctor, She looked into me. Listen to mom...blar...Blar..Blarr.rr..

She sent me to a lab to unblocked my nose with saline solution.

I felt better. I am able to breath even I still have runny nose and no blood !

The 3rd doctor changed a medication for my runny nose to be

Siflex ( INN: Carcocysteine / Liquid 100mg )

She said the drug will diluted sticky stuff in my nasal but not effective to stop nose leaking.

It should help me breathe easy...

Mom gave me Siflex 1.5 CC after my meal.

March 16, 2023 At Home

I could not eat at all

.. Not even 1 kibble

'Puddy, are you seriously doing IF (Intermittent fasting) ? ' Mom asks

Me gave mom a look,

.. A look of sicky

Me know mom just doesn't want to give me negative vibes,

But it's not funny, I'm only 8.5 kg. ( 17.6 lb )

She have to give me mushy food by syringe so I can have my medication.

Sicky is tough ... Me feel so fatigue

2 days I could not eat. It's one of Sirex's side effect.

To make my nasal clear, I must take my medicine.

No eating by myself for 2 days

Pee tiny, No poop

😿

Third days, Mom stops giving me Sirex.

Because I look like no soul, no energy, not eating, drink little, tiny pee, no poop for 2 days.

The end of a day,

I eat my dried food & do some works in my litter tray.

Tiny small things that make my mom happy.

Since that day, mom give me natural stuffs to cure me instead

She is very careful with the amount / frequently

I feel better. Now I can eat, drink, and go to my litter tray.

my nose is leaking a bit, sneezing a bit

I have some energy to run away from mom when she wants to clean my nose.

Tomorrow I will go to hospital again to see my results
